Traffic / Construction Updates

2026 Rothesay Asphalt Resurfacing Project

With most of the Town of Rothesay’s 2026 Rothesay Asphalt Resurfacing Project locations now complete (with the exception of East Riverside Kingshurst Park), there will be no further regular traffic advisories on this project.

Note that the project as East Riverside Kingshurst Park is ongoing but does not have any traffic impacts.

Notice: Street Line Painting Operations Underway
Rothesay would like to advise that the 2026 Longitudinal Line Painting Program on town streets is underway and will continue over the next week. Motorists may experience traffic interruptions in some areas as needed during the program.
Line painting is a moving operation. There is a paint truck with a buffer truck following behind when the work is taking place. The warning truck is there to provide enough space and time to allow for the paint to dry. If you cross the centerline to pass line painting operations, your vehicle will end up with paint on it. Please be patient and follow the direction of the marking vehicles. Flashing lights and LINE PAINTING – WET PAINT signs are mounted on the back of equipment to warn motorists that line painting is being done.
If you get paint on your vehicle, have it washed immediately. Rothesay assumes no liability for paint damages to vehicles that have crossed wet paint lines or disobeyed the warning signs and vehicles.
Thank you for your understanding.

Did You Know?

Not all roadways in Rothesay are the responsibility of the Town? Rothesay Road, Hampton Road, Fox Farm Road, South Ridge Road, and Campbell Drive are all provincial roadways and are only paved with grants from the provincial government program. The province publishes a 3-year “Road Ahead Plan” that identifies all provincial roadways that will be resurfaced in the next 3 years, to view the Road Ahead Plan, click here. Rothesay does complete the maintenance on these roadways for the province (repairing potholes, sealing cracks, painting lines, plowing, etc.).
