Municipal Plan 2020

DRAFT Rothesay Municipal Plan (2020)

The DRAFT Rothesay Municipal Plan is a forward-looking document that covers the next decade (2020 to 2030). The Municipal Plan is a By-law and a guide for development, growth, and investment in Rothesay’s future.

The framework for this document includes a focus on text amendments and housekeeping updates to the By-law language through five sections beginning with the Background, then onto Chapter 1) Land Use, Chapter 2) Municipal Services & Infrastructure, Chapter 3) Development Control, and Chapter 4) Implementation. The entire Plan contains 147 policies that will serve to guide Council, the Planning Advisory Committee, and Rothesay staff in their decision-making, regulation and management of land, municipal services and infrastructure in the community.

Land Use, the largest section of the Plan, outlines the general context and objectives, and policies for the management of land, infrastructure, buildings, and development in the Town. The General Future Land Use Map (2020) illustrates the intended land uses in Rothesay over the course of this Plan.
