Rothesay Intergenerational Community Complex

65 Hampton Road

The Rothesay Intergenerational Community Complex (RICC) is a major community development initiative transforming recreational infrastructure in Rothesay. Currently supported by a $7 million investment from the Government of Canada and a $6 million investment from Rothesay, the project includes both the construction of a new arena, the revitalization of the existing 50-year-old Rothesay Arena, and a connection between both buildings to create a true community hub. This initiative will enhance recreation, accessibility, and social connection for residents of Rothesay and surrounding communities.

Scope
The project consists of three key components:
• A brand-new arena & walking track to ensure continued access to ice and fitness facilities for future generations.
• Renovation of the old arena into a green, energy-efficient, and fully accessible multi-sport facility featuring indoor court surfaces, meeting spaces, and more.
• A connecting structure between the two buildings, creating a true community hub that fosters intergenerational and multicultural engagement.

Concept
This modern, sustainable, and inclusive facility will be a central gathering place for sports, recreation, and community programming, supporting active living and social well-being for years to come.

Current Project Status:

We are actively fundraising to bring the Rothesay Intergenerational Community Complex (RICC) to life, with a goal of fully opening to the public by the end of 2028. With $13 million secured, the project is approximately 35% funded. This modern, sustainable, and inclusive facility will be an equitable and accessible central gathering place. Stay tuned for updates!
