Upcoming Tree Trimming Work to Improve Power Reliability

31 January 2025

We’ve heard some concerns about frequent power outages, and we’re pleased to share that NB Power has responded. Starting February 3, 2025, tree trimming crews will begin work along key power corridors in Rothesay to help improve power reliability for our community.

What You Need to Know:

Where? Work will take place along Grove Avenue, Hampton Road, Highland Avenue, Tennis Court Road, and Rothesay Park Road.

Why? Tree cover along these 3-phase high-voltage power lines has been a major cause of outages. Trimming and, where necessary, tree removal will help reduce disruptions.

When? Crews will begin on February 3 and the work is expected to take 3-4 weeks.

How? NB Power will focus on directional pruning where possible, removing only trees that pose a direct risk due to proximity, species type, or declining health.

Cleanup? NB Power will remove all brush and chip it. Wood larger than 4 inches will be left behind. For areas along public right-of-ways, the Town will follow behind to remove any remaining wood.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as this important work is completed. See a map of the work areas below.
