Rothesay Swears In Mayor Dr. Matt Alexander and New Council

On Monday, June 8, Town Hall was filled with hope, optimism, and excitement as Mayor Dr. Matt Alexander and the new Rothesay Council were officially sworn in.

The evening opened with a land acknowledgement by Tyler Patterson, followed by an opening prayer from Rev. Alicia Walls of Saint David’s United Church. Outgoing Mayor Dr. Nancy Grant offered opening remarks before Madam Justice Hackett administered the Oaths of Office to incoming Council. The evening closed with a prayer from Rev. Father J. Stanislas Paulin of Our Lady of Perpetual Help.

Following the ceremony, everyone gathered in the Hive for a reception joined by council families, community members, Hon. Alyson Townsend, Kennebecasis Regional Police Force Chief Mike Young and Deputy Chief Mary Henderson, and Kennebecasis Valley Fire Department Chief Shawn White and Deputy Chief Karen Trecartin.

Rothesay is in great hands. The town of Rothesay congratulates Mayor Dr. Alexander and the new Council, and looks forward to everything the next four years will bring.

Congratulations to Rothesay’s new Mayor and Council:
