Rothesay Celebrates Canada Day 2026

Canada Day 2026 on the Rothesay Common was everything we hoped for. The rain held off, the crowd turned out, and the community came together to celebrate Canada’s 159th birthday.

The morning opened with remarks from Premier Susan Holt, MLA Alyson Townsend, MP Wayne Long, and Mayor Matt Alexander, followed by an afternoon of free activities for all ages.

The town would like to thank the following partners for making the day possible:

The Kennebecasis Regional Police Force and KV Fire Department for raising the flags. RCSCC 268 Bras d’Or Sea Cadets for leading the opening march. Alison Dawn Campbell for leading the singing of O Canada and showcasing her Voice & Music students. The Kennebecasis Paddling Centre for hosting the BBQ. Royal Canadian Legion Branch 58 for serving ice cream. Shades of Colour Salon & Spa for hair tinsel and braiding. Benny Bubblz for the big bubble magic. Mr. Zapz for the balloon animals. Petite Luna & Sol for the Open Circus Jam and stilt walkers. And Big Entertainment for the giant inflatable castles.

Thank you to every volunteer and every resident who came out. We’ll see you next year.
