Mayor Nancy Grant – Order of New Brunswick
Rothesay Mayor Nancy Grant will be formally recognized today, along with her fellow Members of the Order of New Brunswick, in the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick, in the presence of Her Excellency, the Right Honourable Julie Payette, Governor General of Canada.
This will be the first official visit to New Brunswick of Her Excellency, the Right Honourable Julie Payette. The visit will be marked by a special event in honour of Her Excellency and the Members of the Order of New Brunswick in Fredericton this evening, November 7, 2017.
Dr. Grant received the Order of New Brunswick in 2002 for her exemplary work in establishing Hospice Saint John. Nancy was one of the inaugural recipients of the Order of New Brunswick and was presented her medal by Queen Elizabeth II, during the Queen’s visit to New Brunswick.
The Order of New Brunswick is the highest honour of the Province of New Brunswick. The object of the Order of New Brunswick is to recognize individuals who have demonstrated excellence and achievement and who have made outstanding contributions to the social, cultural or economic well-being of New Brunswick and its residents.
