| Municipal Elections in New Brunswick have been held every four years in May. Rothesay Council is comprised of eight members, including the Mayor and Deputy Mayor. Council meetings are held the second Monday of every month in the Common Room, Town Hall, and normally commence at 8:00 p.m. The public is invited to attend. Mayor William J. Bishop

Mayor Bill Bishop has served one term as Deputy Mayor and is serving his third term as Mayor of Rothesay. He has served over 30 years as a Councillor and Deputy Mayor on the Councils of East Riverside-Kingshurst and Rothesay. Mayor Bishop is past Chairperson of the Rothesay Regional Joint Board of Police Commissioners, the Rothesay Regional Board of Fire Commissioners and the KV Arena Board. He is also Past President of Riverside Golf and Country Club, Past President of Mount Allison University Alumni and Past President of the N.B. Teachers` Association.
Mayor Bishop received his B.A. degree and B.Ed. degree from Mount Allison University and his M.Ed. from the University of New Brunswick. He taught for thirty-five years in the New Brunswick school system and retired as principal of Kennebecasis Valley High School in 1990.
He currently serves on the Board of Enterprise Saint John, Joint Emergency Measures Committee and the Rothesay Regional Joint Board of Police Commissioners.
Bill`s favourite hobby is golf. He has won several New Brunswick and Maritime championships. He also enjoys reading and being physically active.
He is married to Norma and they have a son and daughter, and three grandchildren. |

Blair MacDonald

Deputy Mayor Blair MacDonald is serving his first term on Rothesay Council. He serves as President of the New Brunswick Children`s Foundation and Chair of the Rothesay High School Parents Committee. Blair has held various roles with the Saint John YM/YWCA and is a former member of the District 6 School Board Trustees and the former Provincial Education Board.
Blair obtained his CA designation in 1976 in British Columbia and spent three years as a special investigator with Revenue Canada. In 1980 he joined Grant Thornton in Saint John, retiring as a partner in 2005. Blair is currently president of Hebrides Management Ltd., a consulting firm.
During his term of office, Blair will be serving on the Finance Committee and Regional Facilities Commission.
Blair is married to Barbara and they have three children. |

Councillor Scott Cochrane will be serving his fourth consecutive term on Rothesay Council. Scott served as a Councillor for the former Village of Fairvale for four years, concurrently serving as Chairperson of the Public Utilities Commission and as a member of the Finance Committee.
His experience as an accountant, former business owner and self-employed entrepreneur gives him excellent qualifications to help administer the finances of the Town. During his term on Council, Scott will be serving on the Planning Advisory Committee, Public Works and Infrastructure Committee, Finance Committee and Kennebecasis Valley Fire Department Board.
Scott has resided in Rothesay for thirty-eight years with his wife Sue, to whom he has been married for forty-six years. Scott and Sue moved to New Brunswick from the United Kingdom, via a four year stay in Ontario.
Scott is married to Sue and they have five children and thirteen grandchildren.

Councillor Pat Gallagher Jette will be serving her third term on Rothesay Council and served previously on Council for the Village of Renforth.
Pat received her B.A., B.Ed. and LLB from the University of New Brunswick, and has a private law practice. She has previously served on Districts 20 and 24 School Boards.
During her term of office, Pat will be serving on the Joint Emergency Measures Committee, Fundy Region Solid Waste Committee and the Rothesay Living Museum.
Pat enjoys reading, running, music, golf and travel.
Pat is married to Robert and they have two daughters.

Councillor Terry Kilfoil will be serving his fourth consecutive term on Rothesay Council. Terry served as both a Councillor and Mayor of the former Village of Renforth between 1992 and 1997. During that time, he served as Chairperson of the Recreation Committee and the Finance Committee, as well as Vice Chairperson of the Fundy Region Mayors Association.
Terry has degrees in Education from the University of Alberta and St. Frances Xavier University. He taught for many years in the New Brunswick school system, retiring as principal of Glen Falls School in 1994. Terry has been a lecturer at the University of New Brunswick, Saint John campus in Education at the Masters` Level, teaching courses in Administrative Theory, Teacher Professionalism, Educational Finance and Organization of Schools.
During his term of office, Terry will be serving on the Water and Sewage Committee and the Kennebecasis Valley Fire Department Board.
Terry is an avid golfer and enjoys curling during the winter.
Terry and his wife Nancy have resided in Rothesay for thirty-three years. They have three children and two grandchildren.

 Norma Mullett

Councillor Norma Mullett will be serving her fourth consecutive term on Rothesay Council. She served as Chairperson of the Rothesay Parish Local Service District Advisory Committee in the community of Wells for many years.
Norma has been employed with School District #6 as a school bus driver in the Kennebecasis Valley for 22 years. She has also been involved with Girl Guides of Canada as leader/Rothesay District Commissioner, served as Chairperson of the Bradley Lake Recreation Association, Co-ordinator of the Bradley Lake Summer Day Camp and has served on the Greater Wells Community Association.
Norma enjoys gardening, sailing, reading and spending time with her family at their cottage in St. Andrews. She volunteers with United Commercial Travellers (UCT).
During her term of office, Norma will serve on the Joint Emergency Measures Committee, Kennebecasis Public Library Board and the Public Works and Infrastructure Committee.
Norma has lived in Dofred Subdivision for 28 years and, together with her husband Don, raised their four children. They now have three grandchildren. The Mulletts are an active, energetic family who contribute many strengths and ideas to the community. |

Councillor Don Shea is serving a second term on Rothesay Council, having served during 2001-2004. He has been involved with various boards at local, provincial and federal levels for over thirty years. He currently serves on two NPOs: K.V. Old Boys and K.V. Housing.
Don received his B.A. degree and B.Ed. degree from St. Thomas University and his M.Ed. from the University of New Brunswick. He also attended graduate school at the University of Alberta. Don began his teaching career in PEI but spent over thirty years teaching in local schools. He currently works part-time as Executive Director of New Brunswick Solid Waste Association.
During his term of office, Don will serve on the Rothesay Regional Joint Board of Police Commissioners, the Parks and Recreation Committee and will serve as the liaison with the Senior Advisory Council.
Don`s favourite hobbies are carpentry and community projects.
He is married to Janet and they have a son and daughter. |

Councillor Tom Young will be serving his third consecutive term on Rothesay Council. He is a former Councillor and Mayor from the Village of Renforth. He has been involved with minor sports, Senior A Hockey and various local charitable organizations (Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Children`s Wish Foundation, Hip Hip Hooray Walk).
Tom was born in Toronto and moved to New Brunswick in 1973, and moved to Kennebecasis Park in 1977. He was employed for 25 years as a radio announcer/talk show host with CFBC and K100, hosting "Talk of The Town" on CFBC for 21 years. He currently hosts his own news show on Rogers 88.9FM.
During his term of office, Tom will be serving on the Planning Advisory Committee and Rothesay Heritage Preservation Review Board.
Tom enjoys politics, cooking and gardening.
Tom is married to Diana, a teacher at Kennebecasis Park Elementary School. They have three children. |
